Sending Birthday Wishes - Angled Gatefold

Another fun-fold card, with a belly band, to share today. I think it's called Angled Gatefold, at least that's what I'm calling it. I wanted to play with my Sending Smiles bundle and this is what I came up with.  It's one of the cards we made in my recent class. I used the Pretty Flowers embossing folder to emboss the front panels and bottom inch or so of the inside and back panels.  

The card measures 4 1/4" x 5 3/4" and will fit in a regular C6 envelope. You'll find the instructions below. All products used are listed at the bottom.

I added a panel at the back for somewhere to write your message.

1. Base card: 11" x 5 3/4"
2. Score on the long side: 3 3/8" at each end 
3. Both ends, mark at 1 3/4" down from the top as shown and 1" in at the bottom as shown
4. Both ends, cut from the 3 3/8" score line to the 1 3/4" mark and then from the 1 /3/4" mark to the 1" mark
5. Angled inserts: two 3 1/8" x 5 1/2". Measurements for the angles are exactly the same, 1 3/4" and 1"

And because I had stamped an extra panel, I used it to make a regular A6 card (UK size).

Hedgehog Flip Flap Shutter Birthday Card

This Flip Flap Shutter fun fold card was super fun to make. First I want to let you know that I followed Dawn Griffiths tutorial, which you will find at dawnsstampingthoughts.net 

I have seen a number of 5" x 7" tutorials for this fun fold, but I wanted one that would fit in a regular UK C6 size envelope, which Dawn's does. This card measures 4 1/8" x 5 7/8".

The stamp set is the adorable Happy Hedgehogs and I also used the coordinating Hedgehog Builder Punch, sold separately. All stamping was done in Soft Suede, except for the grass which was Granny Apple Green. I did all the colouring using Stampin' Blends. The greetings came from various other sets which I have listed below. 

I used my Stamparatus to mirror stamp the larger hedgehog so that I could adhere them back-to-back on the first 'shutter'.

Sweet Racoon Wishes

I hadn't yet used this image from the Wild & Sweet stamp set, here's what I came up with. The Book Binding Fold / Book Fold (I've seen it called both) is one of my favourite fun folds. So easy and I think very effective. As was this card to create.

The card base is Gray Granite and all stamping was done in Gray Granite ink on Basic White card. The Racoon image was from the awesome new Wild & Sweet stamp set. The greeting was from Artistically Inked stamp set and for the background on the side panel and envelope flap I used a tree stamp from Beauty of Friendship stamp set.
