Big on You

Happy weekend crafters.  Today's card is one I started a couple of weeks ago but only finished off yesterday evening.

This is one of the four extra large greetings from the Big on You photopolymer stamp set in the spring-summer catalogue. I hope the set is carried forward to the new annual catalogue.  Demonstrators will find out on Thursday 30th April when we get to see an online version of the new 2015-2016 catalogue.  Yay!!!  So excited!

Don't forget, the new 2015-2016 annual catalogue goes live on 2nd June.  The current 2014-2015 ends on 2nd June, not 30th June as printed on the front cover.  Demonstrators get to pre-order some new products from 4th May so watch out for sneak peaks on my blog next month.

So back to this 5" x 5" card.  The image was stamped in Elegant Eggplant on Whisper White card that was cut out with the largest square die which is scalloped. Neat.  I coloured in the text with marker pens in Wisteria Wonder, same as the card base, So saffron, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.

I added a few Petite Petals flowers which were punched out with the coordinating punch. The card was finished off with a few pearls and faux stitching in Wisteria Wonder.  The envelope, made with the envelope punch board of course, is Blushing Bride DSP from the subtles paper stack, finished off with a petite petal flower on the flap.  Thanks for stopping by x

Cute House Tealight holder

Welcome back crafters.  I made over 30 of these cute tealight holders.  Battery operated tealights of course.  You can get two out of an A4 sheet as each house uses a piece of 5" x 8 1/4" piece of card. The sides measure 2" x 2" and height of the roof is 1".

The windows were cut out with the smallest Windows Framelits die.  The opening at the back was cut with the second smallest square framelit die. I added stars and a scalloped strip at the back to strengthen the corners and bottom edge.

The snowflakes, from Endless Wishes, were stamped on window sheet (acetate) with white StazOn in.

Love, love, love SU's glimmer paper. It's available in silver, gold and red.  It's a stunning way to add no-mess glittery sparkle to your projects.

Betsy's Blossom emboss resist technique

Hello crafters.  Hope you had a lovely weekend.  Mine was really busy, as usual.  I'm not complaining, just saying...

Here's an emboss resist technique we re-visited at last week's class.  It was a technique I taught at my very first class, except the stamp set used then was French Foliage - sadly now retired.  I think it works pretty well with this stamp from Betsy's Blossom.

Lots going on with this card, what with layered frames and banners on top of the emboss resist background.  Not to mention the pretty scalloped edge on the base card.  Well I had to try out my new purchase - the rotary track which transforms your Stampin' Trimmer into a rotary cutter, includes a straight edge blade. The decorative small scallop and tiny wave blades are sold separately.
