Geometrical Hooray

Hello crafters. I'm enjoying a lovely crafty day.  The sun is shining, my cat is curled up beside me and I'm watching snooker whilst crafting, sad but true :)

Thought I'd share this one with you today.  It's one we made in class last week using the new Geometrical stamp set and coordinating punch, which can be bought as a bundle, saving you 15%.

The buttons are die cut with the Sweet Buttons Embosslits dies and then coated with Crystal Effects.  The yellow 'button' (I guess you can call it a large card candy) was punched out with the 1/2" circle punch, then coated with Crystal Effects.  Once completely dry it was shaped with a ball tool. Just run the ball tool around the edge, on the wrong side, applying a bit of pressure until you get the desired dome shape.

The triangles for the 'bow' were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. They were then punched out with the coordinating triangle punch.  For the Hooray greeting the stamp was first inked with Versamark then carefully inked with Gumball Green before stamping. Because we used Versamark first, it remained wet and sticky long enough to apply clear embossing powder before heat embossing.

As you can see, the 1" strip on the right hand side was embossed with the Chevron folder and then lightly sponged on the raised areas with Bermuda Bay ink.

Hope you like this one.  Thanks for visiting x

Happy Easter and Creme Egg treat holder

Happy Easter everyone.  Hope you're enjoying a lovely long weekend.

Everyone who attended my classes in April received one of these cute treat holders, housing a Cadbury Creme Egg.

The paper (Sweet Sorbet) and cord are left over from my sale-a-bration stash.  You can make a tag any length you want with the tag topper punch. Or indeed a wrap-around as in this case, with both ends punched and tied together.  I used the fringe scissors for the grass and bird builder punch for the little chick.

Thanks for visiting and see you again soon x

Create a Cupcake on blocks

It's my granddaughter's birthday and I wanted to do something different for her birthday card. I came across a blocks card tutorial on youtube and this is my version, check out the papercrafter45 video here.

It's surprisingly easy to make, once you know how, and uses less cardstock and patterned paper than you'd think.  The card folds flat to fit in a 4 1/2" x 6" envelope and expands to stand as you see - measures 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 1 1/2"

I'm afraid the pink patterned paper I used for the squares and envelope is now retired.  I put Crystal Effects on the cherries and bows on the cupcake cases, with a light sprinkle of glitter on the bows. I used the Envelope Punch Board to make the envelope and pink paper bow on the back of the card . I think it's pretty cool.  Hope you like it.  Thanks for visiting x
