Betsy's Blossom emboss resist technique

Hello crafters.  Hope you had a lovely weekend.  Mine was really busy, as usual.  I'm not complaining, just saying...

Here's an emboss resist technique we re-visited at last week's class.  It was a technique I taught at my very first class, except the stamp set used then was French Foliage - sadly now retired.  I think it works pretty well with this stamp from Betsy's Blossom.

Lots going on with this card, what with layered frames and banners on top of the emboss resist background.  Not to mention the pretty scalloped edge on the base card.  Well I had to try out my new purchase - the rotary track which transforms your Stampin' Trimmer into a rotary cutter, includes a straight edge blade. The decorative small scallop and tiny wave blades are sold separately.

Hope you like it.  Thank you for visiting x

Best of Flowers and Mixed Bunch

Two cards to share today.  This daisy image is from the Best of Flowers stamp set.  Don't forget the best of 25 years stamps sets are only available till 31st March 2014.  You can view them all via the links on the right hand side or click on the Promotions tab above and scroll down to see all five sets.

The shadow effect is achieved simply by stamping once then stamp again without re-inking.  The base card and ink used is Coral Calypso, stamped on Whisper White.  Other products used are the Honeycombe Embossing Folder, Apothecary Accents die, Linen Thread and Pearls.
A similar design here, just using up bits really.  Same colours as above with the addition of So Saffron.  I used the Beautiful Butterfly Bigz die for the butterfly. The stamped image is from Mixed Bunch stamp set and 'Hello' is part of a stamp from Regarding Dahlias.

The paper is from Subtles Paper Stack and embossing folder Perfect Polka Dots.  Thank you for visiting x...

Peaceful Petals

Hello crafters.  Peaceful Petals here for you today.  There are 7 stamps in this new set.  You'll find it on page 20 of the spring/summer catalogue.  Another great one for colouring in, and for jentangling me thinks.

I stamped the image in black Stazon and used Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Crazem Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz to colour in the image.  The embossing was done with Modern Mosaic folder and the shape cut with Apothecary Accents die.  I've been using that set of dies a lot lately. I keep forgetting I have the paper piercing pack that coordinates with this set of dies.  I think it's a simple yet very effective accent to finish off a card.   I'll add a sentiment later.

Simply Sketched

Hello crafters. Today I want to share this beautiful card with you.  It was sent to me by one of my lovely downline's, Alice Eaton.

The flower is from the Simply Sketched stamp set. It's a hostess set available to purchase with hostess £s only.  The sentiment is from Wetlands stamp set and that embossed script is Pretty Script which was available in the autumn/winter 2013 catalogue.

Alice used Oval Framelits and Apothecary dies to cut the shapes.  Lovely :)

So Very Grateful

This is the stamp I used for the 'jentangle' project I did a couple of posts back.  It is of course perfect for water colouring, so viola.  I had made the original card for a friend and really liked it so we made it in class last month too.

This card measures 4 1/2" x 4 1/2".  The stamp set, So Very Grateful, is new in the spring/summer catalogue.  I used the third largest Window Frames die to cut out the aperture in Pink Pirquette which I layered on the Whisper White with dimensional.  The card base and ribbon are Daffodil Delight.

Hope you like it. Thank you for visiting x

Starburst Sayings: Oh Happy Day

Happy weekend crafters.  A lovely day it is too. Tomorrow promises to be another sunny day, whoo hoo. I spent the morning doing a bit of gardening and now it's time for crafting, crafting, crafting :)

It was my nephew's birthday last week and I know I'm not alone when I say it's always a bit of a struggle when it comes to making cards for men.  However, it was easy with this stamp set, Starburst Sayings.  It's new in the spring/summer catalogue, as are the Starburst Framelits Dies which coordinate with the samps.  You'll find them on page 34. Get them as a bundle and you save 15%.

My card measures 4 3/4" x 5 3/4".  Cardstock and inks used are Night of Navy, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilly. I love how the 'HAPPY' banner turned out.  You can see in the photo further down how it was done. If you have any questions, please contact me and I'll be more than happy to help.

Other products I used:  Banners Framelits Dies, Chevron Punch, Chevron Embossing Folder and Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. The gold cord is left over from the Good as Gold card kit which is one of the sale-a-bration products you can get for free with each £45 purchase. Sale-a-bration runs till 31st March so you still have time to get yours free products. Why not book a workshop with me and you can also earn hostess pounds to spend on any item in current catalogues.
