Peaceful Wreath on Woodland

Hello again folks.  Today I would like to share a Christmas card made by Delia Wilkes, one of my lovely downline who has also become a good friend. Delia used some new items from the autumn-winter catalogue which launches tomorrow, 1st September. Yay!

The new stamp set is Peaceful Wreath (photopolymer) and the 6" x 6" embossing folder is called Woodland.  Wonderful Wreath framelits dies coordinates with this stamp set, as well as two other sets in the annual catalogue: Wondrous Wreath, carried forward from last year, and Circle of Spring, new this year.

I love the glittery gold Noel layered over a red Noel, slightly off-set to give a shadow effect. I'm not sure which colours were used, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White I think. And of course you can see that the raised areas of the embossed background was lightly inked in green with a dauber or sponge - lovely.  Thank you Delia.

Hope you're feeling special today

Happy weekend crafters.  Look what I stamped this morning.  Lots of fussy cutting but it didn't take long :)

This is a take on a card we made in class last week, which I'll share with you later as I still have three more classes where we will be making the original card.

First I stamped the striped background in Hello Honey using the new Brushstrokes stamp. Then for the flowers and leaves I used the beautiful, photopolymer Garden in Bloom stamp set. A very pretty, three-step, water colour look.

The flowers (and greeting) were stamped in Soft Suede, then filled in with the solid and accent stamps in Hello Honey and Blushing Bride.  I 'stamped off' the solid stamp once first to get the lighter colour, then stamped the accent in the same ink without stamping off, hence the two-tone petals. The leaves were stamped the same way using Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzaz.

Hope your're feeling special today

As you can see it's one of my tent style folds, sitting on a custom made envelope as the card measures 4 1/2" x 5". I used the Decorative Label punch for the greeting and popped it on Hello Honey card which I cut using a die from the Chalk Talk set.

I finished off with a bow in Very Vanilla.  Sadly the seam binding ribbon is no longer available in the vanilla but you can get other SU ribbon in that colour, like very lovely 5/8" satin ribbon.

Christmas Joy

So today's card is another version of yesterday's card.  I used the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and coordinating Wonderful Wreath framelits again.  This time I used Watermelon Wonder and Very Vanilla card stock.  Not forgetting the scrumptious gold glimmer card for 'Joy' and a 1/4" circle on the bow.  You can see the Softly Falling embossing clearly in the second photo, love it. You'll find a full list of products used below.

Sorry the photos are a bit shadowy, I took them in the conservatory where it was very bright but I forgot about the shadows cast.

Merry wishes wreath

Hello crafters.  So this is the first Christmas card I have made this year.  I have mixed it up using products from the annual and autumn-winter catalogues.  I expect you recognise the wreath, from Wondrous Wreath stamp set, carried over from last year's seasonal catalogue - and I'm so please about that.

The coordinating dies makes it easy peasy to cut out the elements which I popped on with dimensials. The berries can be stamped, which I did, but then I decided to punch out umpteen 1/8" circles with the handheld punch and stuck them over the top. Not something I'll be doing on all my wreath cards.

The new products I used are, one of my new favourites, the Softly Falling embossing folder and the greetings from Oh, What Fun stamp set.  It's a lovely set, great for tags and great for cards.  Thank you for visiting x
